GritShield™ Live Poultry Warranty Policy

Coverage Overview

Your GritShield™ Warranty covers live poultry purchased directly from AZ Chickens for the duration of your selected coverage period (2, 14, 30, 75, or 365 days).

  • Maximum 15 birds covered per warranty policy

  • Applies to chicks, juvenile birds, and adult poultry (chickens, ducks, quail, and other domestic fowl)

  • Coverage begins at the time of delivery (based on carrier tracking) and ends at midnight on the final day of coverage

What’s Covered

  • Losses due to death or severe injury preventing survival

  • Losses during shipping or within the covered time frame

  • Flock-wide incidents affecting multiple birds, provided they meet claim requirements

What’s Not Covered

  • Losses due to predator attacks, accidents, or neglect

  • Illnesses clearly caused by improper housing, feed, or care

  • Weather-related losses if sheltering guidelines are not followed

  • Any bird not purchased from AZ Chickens (external coverage coming soon)

Replacements vs. Store Credit

  • Our Preferred Option: We aim to replace lost birds whenever possible (Minimum of 3)

  • Availability May Vary: If replacement stock is not available in your breed/age, we will issue store credit instead

  • Store credit equals 100% of the original bird’s purchase price (excluding shipping)

  • Second Set Policy: Replacement birds do not include additional warranty coverage unless a new warranty is purchased at the time of replacement order

  • Shipping Costs: Customers are responsible for all shipping costs associated with replacement birds and have the option for an additional warranty on the replacements.

Claim Process

  1. Notify Us Promptly: Contact our support team within 24 hours of loss discovery

  2. Provide Proof:

    • Clear photos of the bird(s) in question

    • Order number and date of arrival

  3. Approval & Resolution:

    • We confirm eligibility and coverage status

    • Replacements shipped (if available) or store credit issued

Single-Use Policy

  • One Claim Per Warranty: Once a claim is approved under a warranty, that warranty is considered fully used and is no longer valid for additional claims, even if unused coverage days remain.

  • This prevents multiple staggered claims under a single coverage period (e.g., 1 bird lost in week 2, then another group in week 8).

  • For ongoing protection after a claim, a new warranty must be purchased at the time of the replacement order.

No-Use Bonus

If you make no claims during your coverage period, you’ll receive a store credit bonus at the end of your warranty — a reward for keeping your flock healthy.

Eligibility

  • Birds must be purchased directly from AZ Chickens in the same order as the warranty

  • Each warranty covers up to 15 birds

  • Multiple warranties may be purchased for larger flocks

  • Not valid for birds purchased elsewhere (external coverage coming soon)
