This product is amazing! I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Calico Coturnix quail hatching eggs offer a fun and colorful twist on traditional quail raising. Known for producing birds with mottled, freckled, and patchy feather patterns, the Calico variety brings unique visual diversity to your flock while maintaining the reliable traits Coturnix quail are loved for — fast maturity, steady egg production, and gentle temperament.

🪶 About the Calico Coturnix Variety

  • Feather Pattern & Color: Calico Coturnix quail hatch with a variety of speckled, patchy, and multi-toned feathering, often combining white, brown, tan, and gray. No two birds look exactly alike, making this variety ideal for keepers who enjoy visual variety.

  • Genetic Note: The Calico patterning is not a single color morph, but the result of complex genetic combinations, producing randomized and charming feather distributions across each hatch.

  • Temperament: Like all Coturnix quail, Calicos are gentle, manageable, and excellent for beginners.

  • Egg Production: Expect strong, consistent egg laying — hens typically begin around 6–8 weeks of age and lay up to 250+ eggs per year.

  • Housing Compatibility: These birds do well in colony pens, cages, or aviaries, and are well-suited to urban backyard setups, homesteads, and classrooms.

💡 Why Choose Calico Coturnix Hatching Eggs?

Calico quail are ideal for hobbyists and families who want birds that are both productive and visually unique. Watching the variety of colors emerge as chicks feather out makes every hatch a surprise — perfect for educational projects or those who want to add artistic beauty to their aviary.

Each egg is collected fresh from healthy breeder flocks selected for consistent laying and pattern diversity, and packed with care to support a safe journey and strong fertility.

Breed Info & FAQ

Are you responsible for USPS delays?

We hand off healthy, properly packed birds and eggs on our normal schedule, but transit timing is controlled by USPS, so delivery speed itself is not guaranteed and is outside our direct control. Our guarantees focus on condition on arrival and clear documentation of any losses, not on whether the box was delayed a day in the postal network.

Can I add an extended warranty after placing my order?

Yes, extended coverage such as GritShieldâ„¢ can usually be added as long as your birds have not shipped yet, so contact support promptly if you decide you want extra protection. Once birds are in transit, new warranty add-ons are limited availability.

Can I pick up baby chicks or quail in person?

Baby chicks and quail are hatched and raised at our Texas farm and are shipped to your local post office rather than picked up at the farm or Arizona meetups. This separation allows each farm to specialize and lets us ship year-round more safely, especially during Arizona’s extreme summer heat.
