Our Policies & Purchase Agreement

Last Updated on 01/01/2024

This article contains a comprehensive breakdown of our Purchase Agreement. Please read this article in its entirety as it pertains to ALL orders placed through AZChickens.com. We hope that by providing these clarifications, to be transparent and upfront with our customers.

By placing an order through AZChickens.com you acknowledge and accept all terms and conditions laid out in our Purchase Agreement. No exceptions will be given

Shipping:

We do not fulfill international orders at this time

Our fulfillment dates are educated estimates for our seasons. Please reach out to us if you require an exact shipping date beyond what is provided on our product pages.

Minimum Orders:

We offer any number of chicks you desire and do not have a minimum purchase amount. For the safety of the chicks we encourage 10 chicks or more to ship safely, because they use each other to stay warm during transit. We will fulfill small orders, (less than 10 chicks) and will be treated as 'sale is final' regardless of shipped or local pickup. We reserve the right to delay small orders if weather conditions are not optimal for shipping small orders and may be eligible for store credit or arrange a different shipping timeframe.

Chick Purchases:

AZChickens provides a 'Live Chick Guarantee'.

If you lose a chick during transit and is dead upon arrival, AZ Chickens will provide a store credit or replacement. EXCEPTION: Due to the limited quantity of Ayam Ketawa chicks, AZ Chickens will not offer replacement poultry for these breeds. Additionally ALL 'Local Pickup', sales of age of Ayam Ketawa or Black Copper Marans or hatching eggs are considered 'sale is final'.

Replacement orders must meet the recommended 6 or 10 chick minimum for safe shipping during that season. We cannot guarantee immediate reshipment for replacement orders but we will certainly provide them as soon as possible.

To get your replacement or store credit you must notify us of the loss within 24 hours after you receive the birds and provide an emailed photo of the shipping box, shipping label and dead birds. Should you decide to file a claim with USPS you will need those photos. If you do not pick up your chicks on the day they are available at the post office any compensation and/or live chick guarantee is null and void. This will be strictly enforced.

Our email is rooster@azchickens.com    ----    It's that easy!

Juvenile & Adult Orders:

All starter, breeder groups, laying hens, pullets, juvenile, adult and breeding pairs of all poultry/ducks are ‘sales are final’ no refunds, no replacements, compensation or otherwise for any reason. In purchasing one of these options, you are purchasing a SERVICE to raise the baby chicks for you. That service is the time, water, feed, poultry care supplies and all aspects of housing and infrastructure to raise them to the appropriate age. When the order is placed, this represents a contract to raise those poultry/quail for you, the action of placing the order, agreement to our terms and conditions, represents a binding contact & sale is final. The reality of a live animal is it could be killed immediately, a live or dead animal does not negate the service that was completed to fulfill the purchased item. Upon fulfillment of the live animal order, the contract & service is completed.

GENERAL SHIPPING INFORMATION: Orders are usually shipped on Monday or Tuesday of your selected shipping week* and will arrive within 1-3 days after they are shipped. You will be given a selection of available ship dates during the checkout process. Additional shipping charges may apply to larger orders and/or juvenile/adult orders.  We will email you the tracking number several days prior to your birds shipping to ensure you are prepared for your arrivals.

*New schedule of shipping birds some weeks and holding to grow out other weeks may interfere with “each week” mailings.

USPS Priority Mail Express is the fastest domestic service available from the USPS. Although we pay for this express service, WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT YOUR SHIPMENT WILL BE DELIVERED OVERNIGHT.

Hatching Eggs:

To be upfront: WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE HATCH RATE OF THE EGGS YOU WILL RECEIVE! Your results will be anywhere from 0%-100%. Sales are final.

About our hatching eggs, selections and shipping practices: ‘AZ Chickens’ hatching eggs purchased through our website will be true to breed and arrive in good condition. We candle the eggs for any cracks or integrity issues before we ship them. Hatching methods are a lot like fingerprints- everyone's is different and distinctive of their own beliefs regarding animal husbandry. Eggs can be shipped year-round, but please use your own discretion when ordering during extreme weather, cold or hot. We do not guarantee hatchability due to conditions beyond our control during shipment, hatching equipment, methods used, fertility or any other underlying conditions.

We firmly believe in our shipping methods using 4 inch foam couch cushions with individual holes for each egg, however, issues may arise that are outside of our control. In the event that hatching eggs are damaged in transit, AZChickens will provide a prorated (per egg) store credit or replacements at AzChickens discretion. This is contingent on verified proof being submitted to our company email (rooster@azchickens.com) in accordance with our guidelines below.

  1. To receive a prorated credit at AzChickens discretion, you must notify us of the loss within 24 hours after you receive the eggs and provide an emailed photo of the broken eggs, in the shipping box, at the USPS facility. This will be strictly enforced. If you do not pick up your eggs on the day they are available, the guarantee and any eligible store credit is null and void. Our email is rooster@azchickens.com.

To be clear: WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE HATCH RATE OF THE EGGS YOU WILL RECEIVE! Your results will be anywhere from 0%-100%.

What we cannot control:
-Shipping conditions (i.e. rough handling, exposure to extreme temperatures, delays, x-ray machines)
-Conditions under which you incubate your eggs (including equipment failure and negligence).
-Abrupt and unpredicted changes in mating and egg laying.
-Knowing if a particular egg was actually fertilized at the time of laying, without cracking it open, rendering the egg useless (unless you’re hungry for an omelet).

What we can control:
-Sending only for breeds that we ourselves are currently hatching successfully.
-Closely monitoring environmental conditions that would cause reduced fertility.
-Keeping an appropriate rooster to hen ratio based on activity level of individual breeds.
-Including fresh, pre-candled for cracked and unbroken eggs.
-Clearly marking egg boxes for the postal service to avoid possible rough handling, extreme temperatures and x-ray machines.

Financial compensation will not be provided for packages experiencing delivery delays.  Purchases are 'sales are final' no exceptions. Should there be shipping delays with USPS that cause loss of package, the recipient may file a domestic claim to USPS for the order and shipping costs.

Cancellations:

For all orders, breeds, poultry, quail or hatching eggs, should you decide to cancel your order for any reason, the cancellation/service fee is 50% of the total cost of your order. Once an order has been shipped or picked up, under no circumstances will a credit/refund be provided once the animal(s) have left our property and/or care. The sale is final, the transaction is completed, no exceptions.

~~~NOTE: There is a lot of behind the scenes labor that goes into every single order and even more so when one is canceled. The 50% service fee for that labor. This cancellation/change fee applies as soon as you complete your purchase, so please be confident with your order before you place it. If you have questions, ask! ~~~
Local Pickup:
A pick up time is pre-arranged once your order is ready. Coming to our farms attempting to shop/pick up will be denied services and you will forfeit 100% of the order and costs. No exceptions as this is a direct endangerment and security risk to your biosecurity and ours. All orders that have chosen 'local pick up' are considered 'sale is final' upon completion of pick up regardless of item purchased. There is no guarantee provided for local pick up orders of any chicks regardless of amount purchased.
Sales, discounts or specials:
Though we automate a lot of our website, coupons and specials (if we have them), should a coupon code need to be entered, it is your responsibility to apply it at checkout. If a coupon code was missed during checkout, no refund shall be given. Please contact us if you need help ordering.
Contact Info:
Our farm has only 250 breeders. We sell from what is collected and hatched here on the farm. Due to the great demand for our quality and beautiful eggs and chicks there is often a wait in most cases. We fill orders as quickly as eggs and chicks are available.
Summer Heat Advisory
Shipping something delicate like hatching eggs always comes with a possibility of internal damage, but when it comes to summer heat, there's an extra layer of concern. Based on our experience, we've noticed that eggs shipped during July and August tend to have more frequent issues with viability. We want to be candid upfront with you about these risks and explain what we do to minimize them as much as possible, so you know exactly what you're getting into. Before making a purchase, please take a moment to consider whether you're willing to accept these risks.
Let's draw a comparison to help you understand better. Imagine buying chocolate bars in the summer when there's a risk of them melting. If you really want those chocolate bars (or hatching eggs in our case), we're always here for you. However, if you'd rather wait, we're more than happy to reschedule.
Now, let's talk about our specific situation. We're located in Arizona and Texas, where temperatures regularly exceed touch 100 or even 110°F during the summer. We collect eggs regularly to ensure we only send out fresh ones. When it comes to shipping, we make sure to send our packages during the coolest part of the day. To further ensure the quality of our eggs, we incubate and hatch the same eggs that we sell. This allows us to confirm fertilization rates and viability throughout the year. It also demonstrates that the summer heat doesn't affect our birds or their eggs in any way.
Now, let's address the increased risk during the shipping process. While all USPS sorting facilities are climate controlled, their trucks are not. If you live near your region's sorting and distribution centers, you may not notice much difference in the summer. However, if you live in a rural region and your eggs need to travel for several hours on a truck, you're likely to see lower viability rates, which may appear as unfertilized eggs.
We hope this information helps you make an informed decision. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to assist you with every step of the way.
