AZ Chickens — Terms & Conditions
We look forward to sending you our fowl and want to ensure you are 100% satisfied with your purchase. To help make sure you are satisfied, we need you to agree to our Terms & Conditions. All orders from AZ Chickens are subject to the following terms and conditions. By placing an order, you agree to these terms in full. Please read carefully. We reserve the right to refuse service or ban access to our website for any reason.
Hatching Eggs
AZ Chickens offers hatching eggs for select breeds when available. These eggs are collected from healthy, NPIP-participating flocks and packaged securely for transit. However, due to the nature of shipping and incubation, we do not guarantee fertility, hatch rates, or results of any kind.
Your hatch rate may be anywhere from 0% to 100%.
We only guarantee that eggs will arrive intact. If eggs are damaged in transit:

You must notify us within 24 hours of receiving the order

Include clear, in-box photos of the broken eggs, shipping box, and shipping label

Prorated store credit may be issued at our discretion based on documentation
Important: Ordering hatching eggs during periods of extreme heat or cold is done entirely at your own risk. Transit conditions can impact viability. We do not replace or credit eggs that fail to hatch due to seasonal exposure. If you'd like to know our on-farm hatch rates, just ask before placing your order.

AZ Chickens does not offer refunds or compensation for postal delays, incubator issues, or failed hatches.
Printed Catalogs
We do not offer printed catalogs. All sales and information are conducted exclusively through our website.
Live Arrival Guarantee
If you place an order for 3 or more chicks or quail, AZ Chickens guarantees the number of live birds received will match your order. If there is a loss in transit, we will issue store credit or, in some cases, a replacement shipment. We do not offer monetary refunds or credit shipping costs.
To qualify:

Include a photo of all losses, the shipping box, and the shipping label
This guarantee only applies to same-day pickup from your post office and submission of photo documentation within 24 hours of arrival.
Examples:

If you order 2 quail and both arrive deceased, we will issue store credit for 2 quail.

If you order 3 quail and all 3 arrive deceased, we will reship the full order.

If you order 12 chicks and 5 arrive deceased, we will reship those 5 chicks.

If you order 25 chicks and 2 arrive deceased, you will receive store credit for 2 chicks.
Replacement shipments may be offered if the losses meet safe shipping minimums for the season. Immediate reshipment is not guaranteed.
Use of Photos & Name
You do not have permission to use our photos, name, or website link for any reason. All content is copyrighted. Unauthorized use of our name or images will result in legal action.
Flock Health & Vaccinations
All adult birds used for breeding are vaccinated and tested regularly. AZ Chickens participates in NPIP and maintains a disease-free status.
Chicks do not come with any vaccinations by default. Marek’s vaccination is available by request only at a cost of $0.50 per chick. We do not recommend vaccinating small flocks, which is why this service is only offered upon request.
Note: Marek's vaccination is not 100% effective. Birds may still contract Marek's disease if exposed. AZ Chickens is not liable for veterinary expenses, medications, or any health issues after shipment.
Shipping
Orders ship weekly, typically Monday through Wednesday via USPS. Transit time varies by region (1–2 days is common). We do not guarantee delivery speed and are not responsible for USPS delays.
Farm Locations, Tours & Local Pickup
We operate farms in both Arizona and Texas, and our poultry is specifically managed to thrive in hot weather climates. We do not offer farm tours or on-site visits in order to maintain strict biosecurity standards and ensure the health of our flocks.
We offer local hen pickup within the state of Arizona for certain breeds and ages. Pickup is scheduled on a bi-weekly or bi-monthly basis. Once your birds are ready, we coordinate a time with you and provide a list of available pickup locations.
Pickup locations include: Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Globe, Waddell, and Tucson.
We group these meetups with egg deliveries and other scheduled pickups to ensure efficiency. Customers will be notified by email with all necessary pickup details when their order is ready.
Quail and baby chicks are hatched and raised at our Texas farm and will require shipping. We are working to expand local availability as we grow.
In addition to our in-house operations, AZ Chickens partners with expert suppliers and farmers to bring specialized poultry and products designed for heat-tolerant poultry and quail keeping. These collaborations help us serve customers across diverse regions while maintaining consistent quality and breed standards.
Phone Number Requirement
A valid phone number is required for shipment. Your phone number will be written on the box to allow the post office to contact you upon arrival. Double-check accuracy before placing your order.
Refunds & Returns
We do not offer refunds or returns on live animal purchases. Store credit will be issued only for documented losses under our Live Arrival Guarantee. Full or partial refunds for cancellations are outlined below.
Payments
We accept all major credit cards at checkout.
Order Cancellations

If your chicks are not shipped within 60 days of your selected estimated ship month, you may cancel for a full refund.

If you cancel your order before your estimated ship month for any reason, you will receive a 50% refund.
Example: If you cancel an order of $200 before your estimated ship month, you will receive $100 back.
There are no exceptions to this policy, so please consider carefully before placing your order.
If you attempt to cancel your order by filing a credit card chargeback without cause:

You agree and authorize AZ Chickens to present these terms as evidence to your credit card issuer.

You further agree to have your credit card company side with AZ Chickens and reimburse us the payment in full.

If the order has not exceeded the 60-day ship window, we will request that the chargeback be reversed.

Upon successful reversal of the chargeback, your order will be considered voluntarily canceled, and you will receive only a 50% refund in accordance with our policy.
This applies whether or not the birds have been shipped and regardless of buyer intent. Filing a chargeback to bypass our cancellation policy will be treated as a breach of agreement.

Partner-Supported Products
Some live poultry and supply orders may be fulfilled through AZ Chickens’ trusted partners. These include select breeder flocks and supply companies who meet our strict quality and health standards. While all orders are processed and supported by AZ Chickens, select items may be prepared or shipped from alternate facilities depending on season, inventory, and availability.
Regardless of origin, all products remain under the same customer support policies and guarantees listed throughout these Terms & Conditions.
What to Expect
At AZ Chickens, we take pride in offering healthy poultry sourced from carefully selected breeding stock. However, it’s important to understand that even with top-quality genetics, there will be variation in the offspring. Not every chick will grow into a show bird or possess all ideal traits.
You may find some birds that exceed expectations and others that are less suited for breeding. This is a natural part of working with live animals. We encourage our customers to raise their birds to maturity, evaluate their qualities, and selectively breed those that best match your goals. This is the same process we use to strengthen our lines over time.
Breed-Specific Expectations
Our breeding lines are selected for appearance and performance, but we cannot guarantee all offspring will meet breed standards. Each bird will develop uniquely, and traits such as color, size, behavior, and production will vary.
Breed perfection takes generations. Expect variation, and use your best birds to improve your line.
Shipment Timing
Our chicks are hatched and shipped on a weekly basis throughout the year. While we aim to provide accurate estimates for your shipping window, the actual shipment date depends on many factors including egg production, fertility, hatch rates, and seasonal conditions.
Rare breeds and specialty lines may take longer to fulfill. Hens may also slow or stop laying without notice, which can affect timing. We appreciate your patience and understanding that live animals are subject to natural variability, and fulfillment cannot be treated like an automated system.
