How does shipping work for baby chicks?

Day-old chicks are carefully packed at our Texas farm with appropriate bedding and seasonal heat management, then shipped via USPS using the fastest route we can access. They are addressed to your local post office for pickup, so you can collect them promptly when you receive the call that they have arrived.

How does shipping work for live birds and eggs?

Most live birds and hatching eggs ship via USPS using Priority or Express-level services between Monday and Wednesday so they arrive as quickly as possible. We pack birds and eggs in purpose-built boxes with appropriate padding and insulation, and ship during safe weather windows so your order spends minimal time in transit.

What basic supplies do I need to successfully raise this chick order?

For each chick order, plan on a draft-free brooder with an adjustable heat source, a thermometer or close observation, chick starter feed at 20–22% protein, chick-sized feeders and waterers, and fine chick grit if you will offer anything beyond crumble. Many customers also add electrolytes or probiotics for the first few days to help chicks bounce back from shipping stress.

Are there any upgrades or add-ons that make chick raising easier?

Most first-time and Arizona customers do best when they add a starter bundle that includes high-protein feed, chick grit, electrolytes or probiotics, and a simple supplement plan, plus an extended warranty if they want extra protection. These pieces together dramatically increase early survival and growth, and they save you from multiple store trips in the first week.

Can I pick up baby chicks or quail in person?

Baby chicks and quail are hatched and raised at our Texas farm and are shipped to your local post office rather than picked up at the farm or Arizona meetups. This separation allows each farm to specialize and lets us ship year-round more safely, especially during Arizona’s extreme summer heat.
