Black Bresse Chicks - Premium American Bresse Day Old Chickens

Our Commitment: With our Black Bresse chicks or American Black Bresse chicks, we aim to produce similar size and standards to that of the White Bresse. Our goal is for 7 pound roosters and 5.5 pound hens which balances their size and keeps a full basket of eggs as well. We strive to retain the black feathers (no leakage), white ear lobes, red full combs and blue steel legs they are known for. We are one of very few farms lucky to be a home for Black Bresse. We aim to produce consistent size with every chick that is produced so you have a foundation for your self-sustaining flock. This means buying quality birds one or two times from us, so you have a solid foundation flock to grow with. Our black flock does show the silver gene which shows as penciling or the 'grey bresse' prized in France. We are working to reduce and eliminate this gene pool.

World's Most Delicious Chicken Breed

Black Bresse Chickens are considered the worlds most delicious chicken. Bresse or American Bresse will lay 250 creme colored eggs per year. Bresse are heat and cold tolerant which makes them a contender for the best homestead chicken. Bresse chickens have black feathers, red combs and blue steel legs. Roosters are typically 7 pounds and hens weigh in at 5.5 pounds. There truly is no difference in this American Bresse other than color. Our current sizes we are seeing about half pound short of our goal.

 

This chick may come leg banded for easy identification. Remove leg band within 7 days.

Are there any upgrades or add-ons that make chick raising easier?

Most first-time and Arizona customers do best when they add a starter bundle that includes high-protein feed, chick grit, electrolytes or probiotics, and a simple supplement plan, plus an extended warranty if they want extra protection. These pieces together dramatically increase early survival and growth, and they save you from multiple store trips in the first week.

Are you responsible for USPS delays?

We hand off healthy, properly packed birds and eggs on our normal schedule, but transit timing is controlled by USPS, so delivery speed itself is not guaranteed and is outside our direct control. Our guarantees focus on condition on arrival and clear documentation of any losses, not on whether the box was delayed a day in the postal network.

Can I add an extended warranty after placing my order?

Yes, extended coverage such as GritShieldâ„¢ can usually be added as long as your birds have not shipped yet, so contact support promptly if you decide you want extra protection. Once birds are in transit, new warranty add-ons are limited availability.
