Purchased four Jumbo Coturnix quail (three females and one male) Awesome, healthy birds. Birds were as expected and had plenty of energy, even after their journey through the mail. Packaged properly and thoughtfully. This was my first purchase. I definitely will be a repeating customer and would recommend them to anyone. Super happy with my purchase!!! But all 15 chicks are absolutely beautiful and are some of the healthiest robust chicks I have ever ordered. I am more than happy with them. I will definitely be ordering hatching eggs in the spring. While I have previously ordered numerous full-grown chickens and chicks, this was my first time ordering quail. I have had extensive dealings with various breeders over the years, and my primary focus has always been on both quality and customer service. AZ has demonstrated exceptional performance in both these areas. Despite the occasional hiccups that can arise, AZ has been transparent about any issues that led to delays with parts of my order. They have gone above and beyond to address these challenges and ensure customer satisfaction. Given the distance between Wyoming and Arizona, coupled with variable temperatures, AZ has been meticulous in shipping practices to ensure the health of the birds. Their efforts have resulted in the delivery of six very healthy birds. I appreciate the outstanding communication and responsiveness from AZ’s team, which has made all the difference. The birds I received are significantly larger and more beautiful than my existing flock, and I am eagerly anticipating seeing the Caledon birds and their blue eggs. Holy moly, these people are amazing! First great communication across the board to the point where I had concerns I’d be out of town when the chicken would be arriving. They worked with me on shipping. Not only did my Easter Egger arrive health and happy, she had a buddy. I even called and said I only ordered one but was told we like to ship them with a buddy. Mind blown that these people care that much. Not only did they basically tell me I got a two for one, but had a 15 minute conversation with me about chicken questions I had that didn’t even pertain to the chicken I purchased. I can’t write enough good things about AZ Chickens!

I ordered 6 white Amer Bresse in Dec for May Delivery. Came in two days, all healthy and hungry. After 5 weeks they are all healthy, eating, pooping, growing, and seem happy, so it's all on me now to keep them that way. I guess the true test will be in a couple months when they are adults, but so far they look great.

Purchased 15 Celadon Hatching Egg (Cotournix Quail), ended up with 3 extra eggs. The people who handled my order and pickup were timely and kind with any questions I had. Super friendly! They just hatched these last few days, still have 7 yet to hatch, 11 ended up hatching, so far leaving us with a 61% hatch-rate. Eggs were quite clean with bloom still in tact. Highly recommended; just purchased my next 15 eggs yesterday.

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences each time I have had contact with these wonderful folks. The hens we initially purchased were beautiful, healthy and productive. Our next batch were equally healthy and beautiful ! Colwyn was very patient and answered all my questions in a timely and informative manner. We are just about to bring on our 3rd batch and have no doubt it will be an equally satisfying experience. Along the way we have had a few personal bumps in the road and Colwyn has been patient and accomodating. These folks are the real deal, an honest to goodness family run small business. So I wanted to wait several weeks before posting this review so that I could get a good grasp of overall chicken health because ya know, chicks can be unpredictable. We ordered 12 of the barnyard mix chicks and they sent 15. These little fluffs were happy and healthy straight away! After a couple of weeks we ended up losing only one because of failure to thrive most likely which honestly is INCREDIBLE! Our little fluff butts are now almost 6 weeks and fixing to move out of our living room (hallelujah!). I’m telling y’all, now that these babies have started to feather, they are the MOST BEAUTIFUL chickens ever! I can’t wait to watch them continue to mature and see what color of eggs we end up with! I wish I could attach pictures so y’all could see! I also have to brag on their costumer service... these folks are just a downright pleasure to deal with. They quickly and kindly responded to all of my questions. We are in New Mexico and it can be tricky to find a hatchery in this vicinity. We are so happy that our business has gone to a sweet family who breeds some seriously awesome chicks! We will be doing business with them again!

Absolutely the best customer service. All of the 10 chickies my husband and I got were healthy. He even took time out of his work day to come out and help us pick them out, and educated us on the breed. Unfortunately most of them turned out to be Roos 😂.... so looks like we will definitely come back!!!

Colwyn and Caryn are so sweet!! They are very easy people to get along with and have a great set up for their animals! So much love is put into raising them. They have definately done their research. I drove 3 hours to pick up some Bresse chicks and a creme legbar rooster from them and they made the trip home safely. They have been available for any and all questions I've had so far and I definately plan to order more from them! Can't wait to see these little guys grow up!

Responded quickly to all inquiries. Very accommodating; let me come over and pickup with very little forewarning on what turned out to be her day off. The 12 chicks I picked up are all strong, and there is a lot of variety in the Barnyard mix. Update. 6 of the 12 are definite cockerels, 2 undetermined. So only 4 I'm pretty sure are pullets. Little bummed I'm going to have to go through this process twice this season to get the eggs I need... Hmm. You did pick out my chicks and I did ask for pullets. A couple errors is inevitable, but 50+% (and your response) starts to seem intentional. Did not want a flock of roosters.

Colwin at Az Chickens is super friendly and informative! He had excellent communication with me when I was considering which chicks to get. I ended up getting a variety of 3 chicks and he gave me another one for free! I was impressed with how clean his property was. My chicks are healthy and thriving. I will definitely come back to Az chickens when I want more. Purchasing from him was worth the 1.5 hour drive.

I found this business via MeWe looking for some laying hens. I decided to instead raise them from chicks to bond with them more. Colwyn was great at communicating with me throughout the process and when I went to pick up the chicks, he took a good amount of time to answer any questions I had as well as show me the operation and explain how it ran and what he fed them, etc. As a chef, I am very passionate about my ingredients and what I provide to my customers. I could tell right away that Colwyn was just as passionate about how he raised his birds, and the lengths he went to, to replicate traditional French breeding techniques. Overly pleased is an understatement when it comes to how I felt with dealing with this company and it’s owner. I’m looking very much forward to dealing with them again.

We saw a Facebook post for "summer" scratch. We gave Colwyn a call and went to his place. Just charming! Chickens, horses, a garden and a beautiful family. The prices are more than fair. And the quality is terrific. Colwyn keeps us up to date with ordering dates etc. We wish we needed products more often!!
