The selected date indicates the week the hens will be ready to come home to their new coop.

Black Australorp Hens are renowned for their resilience and productivity, making them one of the most popular choices for backyard flocks. Originating from Australia, this dual-purpose breed is highly valued for both meat and egg production. Their glossy, black feathers reflect a beautiful green sheen under sunlight, adding elegance to any flock. At maturity, hens weigh approximately 6.5 lbs, while roosters reach around 8.5 lbs.

Our hens are shipped at 8-10 weeks old, fully feathered, and sexed for guaranteed egg production. Black Australorps are prolific layers, producing 4-6 large brown eggs per week, even in the cold winter months. Their adaptability to both heat and cold climates makes them suitable for a wide range of environments, including hot climates like Arizona.

Care and Habitat: Black Australorps thrive in free-range environments and are known for their docile and calm temperament, making them a great breed for families and children. They are also friendly towards other chicken breeds, making flock integration easier.

Egg Production: Expect high egg production, with an average of 4-6 large brown eggs per week. These hens are consistent layers, even in colder months, adding to their popularity.

Health & Nutrition: Provide a balanced diet of layer feed, grains, and access to fresh water. Supplement their diet with calcium to support strong eggshells and consider adding high-protein feed during molting seasons to support feather regrowth.

Why Choose Black Australorp Hens? Their resilience in both hot and cold climates, quiet demeanor, and impressive egg production make Black Australorps a top choice for both beginners and experienced poultry keepers. They are also low-maintenance, making them easy to care for year-round.

Order your Black Australorp Hens today and enjoy consistent egg production year-round!
