Speckled Sussex Hens are an excellent addition to any backyard flock, known for their friendly, docile nature and prolific egg production. These hens originate from England and are famous for their striking plumage, which features beautiful mahogany feathers covered in distinctive white spangles. They are heat-tolerant, making them an ideal choice for hot climates like Arizona and Texas.

Our hens are carefully raised and shipped at 8-10 weeks old, fully feathered and ready to thrive in their new home. We guarantee that each hen is sexed and verified as female, ensuring you'll enjoy a steady supply of eggs without the worry of receiving a rooster.

Care and Habitat:
Speckled Sussex Hens are perfect for free-ranging or confined coops. They are easy to manage and get along well with other breeds. These hens weigh approximately 7 lbs at maturity, making them a sturdy breed for both meat and egg production.

Egg Production:
Expect consistent egg-laying, with an average of 4-5 large brown eggs per week. Speckled Sussex Hens are also known to be broody, making them excellent mothers for those looking to hatch their own chicks.

Health & Nutrition:
Speckled Sussex Hens are a robust breed and do well with a balanced diet of layer feed, grains, and access to fresh water. Their diet should also include calcium supplements to support strong eggshell formation.
